To strengthen coordination between Horizon Europe and the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF), REMORA will establish a dedicated Policy Lab aimed at fostering a coherent regional policy mix, avoiding overlaps, and enhancing complementarities between funding instruments.
The Policy Lab will bring together members of the REMORA Advisory Board and key stakeholders, including policymakers, RIS3 practitioners, ESIF managing authorities from La Réunion, Madeira, and Azores, as well as National Contact Points (NCPs) and other European experts.
Following the selection of participants, RUIZIA Europe Office will coordinate a series of four online workshops designed to identify and address barriers to effective coordination between funding instruments. These sessions will:
· Workshop 1: Facilitate peer learning on regional challenges and good practices for creating synergies.
· Workshops 2 and 3: explore possible evolutions in the design and management of Structural Funds operational programs and funding instruments.
· Workshop 4: Discuss the evolution of regional Smart Specialisation Strategies (RIS3).
To ensure practical impact and uptake of the results, ARDITI and RUIZIA Europe Office will also organise regional workshops in Madeira and La Réunion. These sessions will bring together policymakers to co-develop actionable recommendations aimed at strengthening synergies within ESIF programmes and advancing regional smart specialisation strategies.
