
The Atlantic International Research Centre (AIR Centre) is an international organisation based on science, that brings together organisations from the countries of the Atlantic Ocean basin to promote knowledge generation and transfer, to support environmental monitoring including early warning, and to boost the blue economy. With collaboration agreements spanning over 20 countries in the Atlantic basin and Caribbean Sea, the AIR Centre fosters a collaborative framework that strengthens the Atlantic Community promoting fair cooperation between Atlantic regions and scientific, technological, economic, and social co-development. The AIR Centre is based on Terceira Island, Azores (Portugal), aiming to promote job creation and sustainable economic development in the Atlantic regions, through the integration of space, data, climate and ocean science.
